• The design was created to echo an architectural feel. The subject chosen was Steel and Glass buildings. This rug is about describing the effect of oxidisation of metals.
• Colours include blue/grey/silver/white/purple/lilac with highlights in dark blue, black, steel grey.
• Size 1800 x 700 mms (70 x 27 inches). 32 mms (1 ¼ inch) thick.
• Weight 7 kg (15 lbs).
• Made June 2005.
• 100-140 strands of varied ply used to create a medium density stitch.
• Over 400 different wools used in this rug.
• Mixed Fibres 70% Wool, 30% mixed fibres eg cotton, silk, acrylic.
• The body of the rug is hand knitted on handmade needles - made by Rachel. The tassels are hand knotted.
