• The design was created to echo an architectural feel. The subject chosen was Steel and Glass buildings. This rug is about describing the effect of the sky reflected in the side of a steel and glass building.
• Colours include blue/grey/silver/white with highlights in lilac, dark blue, black, steel grey.
• Size 2000 x 1500 mms (79 x 59 inches). 32 mms (1 ¼ inch) thick.
• Weight 16 kg (35 lbs).
• Made Jan – March 2005.
• 100-140 strands of varied ply used to create a medium density stitch.
• Over 400 different wools used in this rug.
• Mixed Fibres 70% Wool, 30% mixed fibres eg cotton, silk, acrylic.
• The body of the rug is hand knitted on handmade needles - made by Rachel. The tassels are hand knotted.
