FACTS ABOUT THIS RUG • The design is about further exploration of the theme of a rainbow created by bright moonlight and rain.
• Colours include all tones of blue/grey/silver/white/cream/ purple/lilac/green/red/orange/yellow.
• Size 1600 x 1500 mms (63 x 59 inches). 32 mms (1 ¼ inch) thick.
• Weight 17 kg (37 lbs).
• Made July - August 2005.
• 100-140 strands of varied ply used to create a heavy density of stitch.
• Over 500 different wools used in this rug.
• Mixed Fibres 70% Wool, 30% mixed fibres eg cotton, silk, acrylic.
• The body of the rug is hand knitted on handmade needles - made by Rachel. The tassels are hand knotted. |
